S & E's Tip #10 ☕️💗

S and E's Tip of the week: Go techless and BE with your person! 📵💗

A year ago S and I went on a little staycation for Valentine's Day and because everything was closed because of Covid and we'd be in the hotel room for the trip we thought we'd make it a fun and connecting trip by keeping our phones in a drawer and just focus on spending time together. This started our tradition of having phoneless vacations and because we started on Valentine's Day, we thought it was fitting to use this as our Valentine's Day Tips and Tea! Also, we're posting this early because we'll be doing this tip ourselves tomorrow!Whether you go on a trip or if you're at home, this is a super great connection building exercise! Even when we're at home we sometimes try to fit in some time without tech. If we feel like we may have spent too much time on tech that day or we just feel a bit disconnected we might say okay for the rest of the night let's try to stay off our phones. Or there's been times where we've tried to stay away from tech for the first few hours when we wake up. Because idk about you but as terrible as it sounds.. we usually go to our phones as soon as we wake up. When we were on our staycation we found that being off our phones in the morning changed the tone of our whole day.. in a positive way! When we start off the day with our phones, even though we say good morning and stuff it already starts off our day with being disconnected. We're right here with each other but we're not actually present. Where as without our phones we were starting and continuing more conversations, noticing little things that we would usually miss, and just enjoying each other's presence more. The first official time we did it on a trip we brought like a mini notepad and pen and wrote down any phone numbers we'd need for restaurants etc. Now we make exceptions if we need to order food through ubereats or something but we CANNOT look at any of our notifs or anything! Just order the food asap. We spend our time just enjoying each others company and playing games together etc. We customized a few games together beforehand and then had fun playing them on our trip, did some "Our Moments: Couples Game", and we always get some bath bombs and enjoy nice baths together! We don't have cable at home and we do find it fun to find a random show to watch on the hotels TV and cuddle up before bed so we do use that little bit of tech. But we avoid it for the rest of the day. So do whatever you and your person think will add to your connecting time!We find something unique happens when we put our tech away. We find that time goes by slower but in the best way possible. When we are constantly watching shows or on our devices etc it feels as though we have no time in the day. At the end of days like that we often find ourselves wondering where the day went. Even though we were together the entire day sometimes it feels like we didn't even see each other. But when we just spend time with each other device free it feels like our day is filled with a lot more quality moments. And who doesn't want more quality time with their person?!I'm not gonna lie, it always takes us a bit of getting used to. Phones, computers, etc are addicting. But once we get in the groove of a techless life it's so nice!If you're planning on going on a trip give it a try for the whole trip! And if you're at home do it for as long or short as you'd like! Maybe the first few hours of the day, the last few hours of the day, the whole day, 2 days, a weekend, or a week! Totally up to you but definitely give it a try because it's a great refresh for your relationship and it creates a great environment for your relationship to flourish!SO, FOR THIS WEEK...Put your tech away and enjoy some quality connecting time with your person!Whether it's on a trip or at home, truly enjoy each others presence with no distractions getting in the way!Hope you and your person enjoy this weeks tip! It's one of our favs!
Let us know how it goes in the comments! (But not during your techless connecting time 😊)

Happy Valentine's Day Lovelies! ❤️

LET'S KEEP OUR RELATIONSHIP GROWING
AND OUR CONNECTION GLOWING!
